Compendium 2015 presented on the 24th of November

On the 24^th of November, the Compendium for Coast and Sea 2015 was successfully presented at the Flemish Parliament in the presence of a.o. Mr. Carl Decaluwé, governor of the Province West Flanders, Mr. Eric Sleeckx, Advisor at the Office of the Flemish Minister for Economy and Innovation, and Bart Dumolyn, assistant to the director at the Department of Economy, Science and Innovation (EWI) of the Flemish Government.

The Compendium for Coast and Sea 2015  includes an extensive background document which describes the marine scientific landscape (Chapter 1) and a summary of the knowledge on different user functions of the coast and sea, as well as an integrated theme about the Scheldt Estuary (Chapter 2). Furthermore, a number of derived communication products were developed which are digitally disclosed on the website:

• Brochure ‘Belgian marine research’: Disclosure of the available expertise in the Belgian marine research groups
• Catalogue ‘Marine research infrastructure’: Overview of the available research infrastructure within each Belgian marine research group
• Guide on ‘Funding instruments’: Overview of the most relevant funding channels for marine research and innovation projects
• Manual 'Marine legislation and policy': Overview of the most relevant marine policy and regulatory instruments (across different policy levels) that apply in full or in part to the Belgian part of the North Sea (BNS), to the coastal area or to the Scheldt estuary.
