JPI Water, JPI Oceans and JPI Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) are launching a joint trans-national call for research and innovation projects aimed at investigating the risks to human health and the environment of pollutants and pathogens in water.
New pollutants, pathogens and anitmicrobial pollutants pose a continued risk to our water bodies and oceans. In order to address these challenges in a comprehensive manner and to develop multidisciplinary and practical solutions for the provision of safe drinking water and a healthy aquatic environment, a call for projects will be launched on 17 February by JPI Oceans, JPI Water and JPI Antimicrobial Resistance.
Specifically, the call will support research and innovation projects that develop an integrated and multidisciplinary approach to risk management, combining the research areas of new contaminants (Contaminants of Emerging Concerns), pathogens and antimicrobial resistance. This should take into account the whole water cycle, from source to river basins and ultimately to estuaries and oceans.
