The Belgian-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (CCBP) organised an event on Tuesday 19 November with leading Belgian/Flemish and Portuguese companies, members of the European Commission and Parliament, the European Investment Bank (EIB), the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), NGOs and scientific partners, to discuss further cooperation on offshore energy and the blue economy. The event is a follow-up to the state visit to Portugal in October 2018, where the Portuguese maritime cluster Forum Oceano and the Flemish Blue Cluster signed a MoU in the presence of Minister-President Geert Bourgeois. At the invitation of the CCBP, VLIZ contributed to panel III 'Obstacles and constraints for the blue economy' from the perspective of scientific support and cooperation with the blue economy. The conclusions of the event were presented in the EU Parliament at the invitation of MEP Claudia Monteiro de Aguiar and DGMARE Christos Economou.
