New interactive timeline visualizes key moments in ocean policy since early 21st century

Within the context of the Compendium for Coast and Sea, the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) is launching a timeline that provides policy makers and interested marine experts with an overview of the main strategies, processes and laws that have shaped ocean policy since the beginning of this century. This timeline revolves around five themes: Global Policy, European Marine Science Policy, European Economic Policy, European Maritime/Environmental Policy and European Science Policy. Each key moment is provided with a brief description, after which one can immediately click through to the original documents or websites for even more background. The timeline is available in Dutch and English and is included within the theme "Policy and Legislation" of the Compendium for Coast and Sea.
