ASSEMBLE Plus provides access to over 30 marine biological research institutions across Europe and overseas to carry out your scientific research in the field of marine biological sciences. ASSEMBLE Plus funds access to laboratories, state-of-the-art experimental facilities and technological platforms, ecosystems, and a wide variety of marine biological resources.
ASSEMBLE Plus offers Transnational access: this opportunity involves your research group accessing marine biological research institutions
(herein "access providers") located in a country other than that of the main applicant of the research group.
ASSEMBLE Plus sponsors teams of up to two researchers for:
- access to the ASSEMBLE Plus research infrastructures
(facilities, platforms, laboratories, standard lab consumables, chemicals and disposables)
- travel (one round trip per person, economy class)
- subsistence (meals and accommodation, up to 30 days, weekends included)
- shipping costs of project material from the Access Provider to your home institution
(covered by most Access Providers, up to €400)
To apply for access to ASSEMBLE Plus you have to meet the following criteria:
- You are a PhD student, postdoc, researcher, or engineer
- You must submit an innovative project proposal
- You must work/study in a recognised academic institution, or be employed by a not-for-profit organisation or registered company
- Your home institution should be based in a European Union Member State or Associated Country.
Access for a single user – or a user group – not working in the EU or an Associated Country is allowed but with some limitations.

- The access must be transnational, i.e., the home institution of the main applicant must be situated in a country different from that of the selected access provider
