Strongylocentrotus purpuratus (in situ)
Description
Tide pool: The sea urchins sit side by side in pits, which they don't leave for grazing. They are sessile, feeding on organic particles which come with the water. Many of the animals have camouflaged themselves with small pebbles or pieces of algae.
