On March the 13th 2001 one specimen of Epitonium clathratulum was found alive at the end of the first long groyne at Koksijde (Belgium). Study of species collected at the Côte Basque SW. France learned that the specimen feeds on partly digested food in the gastric cavity of Bunodosoma biscayensis (Den Hartog, 1987). Due to the absence of this sea-anemone on the Belgium coast, the question on the food of E. clathratulum here remains open.
