An updated checklist of marine shelled molluscs from the Ionian coast of Salento is provided. The list is based on samplings on material from other private collections by the Author in the year 1992-2002, as well as in other private collections. One hundred and two species represent new records for the study area and 2 of these, Rissoa angustior (Monterosato, 1817), Finella pupoides Adams A., 1860 are also new for the Italian fauna. Alvania aspera (Philippi, 1844) is recorded for the first time from the continental coast of Italy. Some particularly interesting species are figured.
