Description
With the object of determining the general character of the winter plankton in the vicinity of the Biological Station, St. Andrews, N.B., the caretaker of the station,A. B. Calder, was instructed to make collections of the plankton during the winter of 1914-15 and to preserve the material collected in formalin. Collections were consequently made at frequent intervals from the latter part of September, 1914, until the end of May, 1915. more

The OBIS dataset, containing species distribution information, was extracted from the qualitative study of the collections as published by McMurrich in the 1917 report. (http://www.nrcresearchpress.com/doi/pdf/10.1139/f14-018). For more information on the OBIS schema refer to the OBIS web site.
