Description
This measurement campaign was performed between 8 and 10 May 2016 at the study site in Mariakerke-Bad. A feasibility study was executed to determine the optimal number of static scans needed to create a 3D model using Static Terrestrial Laser Scanning. Three tests were performed, using multiple scan set-ups and resolutions. The study using Static Terrestrial Laser Scanning was performed in a zone 50 meters around cross-shore profile KP27. A Leica HDS 6100 phase based laser scanner and total station Leica TS15i were used. The optimal way of performing the survey is to use 28 scans, this takes approximately 6 hours. The resolution of the resulting pointcloud is (5 x 5) mm, with a vertical accuracy ranging from 2-5 cm. This method provides very high point densities, a fast acquisition per scanning position, but is time-intensive for measuring at a large spatial scale.
