Description
The standard haul has been undertaken using seven research vessels over the time series, each using comparable gear i.e. a Large (~19m headline) otter trawl with a small mesh cod-end or a cover. Demersal fish abundance is recorded, fish are recorded by number of individuals or total biomass of common species i.e. whiting. Between 1911 and 1986 only the total length of individuals and disc width in rays was, intermittently on sub-samples, recorded; from 2001 2007 both total length and weight of individuals have been recorded.
