A tropical drift seed, i.e. Entada gigas (1.) Fawc. & Rendl., is recorded for the first time on the Belgian beach, on 28 November 1981 at Ostend. It propably came through the English Channel, as many organisms of presumed southern origin had washed ashore along the Belgian coast in autumn 1981.
