Abstract
Eighty six prosobranch species have so far been recorded from Sognefjorden (about 6105'N, 430'-7SUP-o 30'E). There is a distinct decrease in number of species from the outer to the inner parts of the fjord, only 14 species being recorded from the inner fjord area. The fjord is dominated by lusitanian-boreal species, approx 48%, but both boreal and arctic-boreal species are well represented and amount to about 21% each. None of the species penetrating into the inner fjord branches is Arctic in distribution.
