Abstract
This paper describes the setup of a high resolution sediment transport model for the harbour of Zeebrugge. The goal of the model is to evaluate dredging and dumping strategies and evaluate future port extensions. In order to better understand the sediment dynamics in the neighbourhood of the harbour the model setup is proceeded by an in depth analysis of ten years of measurement data. The approach of this analysis and the results are briefly discussed in the present paper.
