Abstract
    Authors discuss the implications of coastal swarming of the jellyfish Pelagia noctiluca and present some theoretical considerations of stinging mechanism. The consequences of a jellyfish sting - local and spossible systematic - and the possible patophysiological explanations are given. The treatment of injuries due to jellyfish stings, is briefly described.
