Abstract
This Master Dissertation considers the simulation of the effect passing vessels alongside a 18000TEU container vessel being bunkered by two classes of bunker vessels at the Deurganckdock in the Port of Antwerp. The in-house Vlugmoor simulation software of Ghent University is extended to account for these two moored vessels in one simulation. A parameter study is performed for the mooring configuration of two defined reference bunker vessel classes, changing the position, orientation, number of fenders and equipment characteristics. Simulations are executed using the extended Vlugmoor software. Finally, a fist attempt is made to obtain a set of regulations and recommendations for the mooring equipment.
