Abstract
    The status of Hastula hectica (Linnaeus, 1758) and Hastula bacillus (Deshayes, 1859), their synonyms and their respective types are reassessed, whereby we conclude that 3 synonyms need a new and updated status; detailed comments on the types and type localities are provided; an additional new species is described and the status of Terebra trailli Deshayes, 1859 is reassessed and updated.
