Abstract
The talitrid amphipod, Talorchestia brito Stebbing, is described and illustrated from specimens collected in SW Norway and W Morocco, and its known distribution is mapped. The NW Pacific material ascribed to Talorchestia brito by most recent authors, is shown to belong to quite a different species, Orchestoidea trinitatis Derzhavin. Pending revision of the Orchestoidea-Talorchestia complex of supralittoral beach-hoppers T. brito should be kept in the genus Talorchestia.
