Abstract
Organic walled phytoplankton and transgressive phases near the Palaeocene-Eocene transition in thesouthem part of the North Sea Basin. Biostratigrapbic correlations through tbe Landen and leper Groups, between Belgian sections from the Kallo and Knokke boreholes (NW Belgium) are based on the distribution of organic walled pbytoplankton. Some appearances allow correlations between the Belgian sections and those in the English, Danish and Northern German basins. Four levels of appearance give evidence of important transgressive phases in this southern part of the North Sea Basin.
